The number of intoxicated Arizona drivers dropped nearly 20 percent over this past Labor Day weekend. 450 arrests were reported by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, as compared to 549 DUI arrests the previous year.

Although DUI arrests were down this year, the number of repeat offenders increased, as did the average blood-alcohol content. In 2014, the average blood-alcohol content was reported at .145 as compared to this year’s average at .153. The State’s limit is .08.

Nearly 1900 law enforcement officers participated in this year’s campaign to crack down on Labor Day DUI’s.
